A Love for Films… But Life Chose a Different Path
In the beginning, Dharam Saroj was completely focused on Bollywood and TV serials. He always wanted to do something big in films — whether in acting or any technical role behind the camera.
But life guided him toward a new direction.
The Struggle Phase & The First Break
After completing his filmmaking course from Face Academy, Dharam Saroj spent almost an entire year without a job or any project. Those days were extremely challenging, but he refused to give up.
One day, through Facebook, he connected with a company (name kept confidential). They invited him to their office and explained their work process, services, and team operations in detail.
That was the first ray of hope — the moment that changed his professional life forever.
A Bollywood Dream Leading Toward the Wedding Industry
To be honest, Dharam Saroj never imagined that he would ever work in the wedding industry. His focus was always on Bollywood and TV. But joining that company opened his eyes to a world he had never known.
He realised that weddings are not just events — they are an entire universe filled with emotions, culture, stories, and creativity.
First Job, First Camera — And a Shift in Mindset
He joined the company with a starting salary of ₹20,000. His initial role was to edit traditional wedding videos. Slowly, he started learning camera operations as well.
Within just two months, he got his first opportunity to handle a camera at a wedding. The experience was magical for him.
Even then, he used to think:
“I wanted to operate a camera in Bollywood… not in weddings.”
But life had written something else for him.
From Compulsion to Passion
Initially, he started out of necessity — no money, no job. But over time, he began enjoying the work. Good people, good clients, and meaningful connections made the journey beautiful.
But life changed again when the lockdown arrived.
Two years of no work… and eventually, he lost his job.
When the Job Ended… the Dream Began
Sitting at home, he felt lost. But in that silence, a spark emerged:
“Now I won’t work for others.
It’s time to build something of my own.”
And this dream became — The Wedding Filmmaker™.

For almost a month, Dharam Saroj kept brainstorming names — creating, rejecting, refining. And then the name came from his heart:

The moment he finalised it, it felt like a child had taken birth — something extremely close to his heart.

The day “The Wedding Filmmaker™” was officially trademarked, his happiness was beyond words. It was the moment his dream became his identity.

During a phase of confusion, he found a mentor — Shri Abdullah Sir — who reshaped his thinking, refined his branding, and strengthened his vision.
