PawCheck β AI pet health scanning for dogs and cats across India. Available free on Android.
MUMBAI, 2026 β Canine Products Private Limited today announced the forthcoming launch of PawCheck, India’s first AI-powered pet health scanning application, ahead of its debut on the Google Play Store. The free Android app allows dog and cat owners to photograph a health concern and receive β in under 10 seconds β a plain-English assessment of the likely condition, how serious it may be, and whether a vet visit is warranted.
For the estimated 2.5 crore pet-owning households in urban India, the gap between noticing something wrong and getting a professional opinion has long been a source of anxiety. Veterinary access remains uneven across the country; even in major cities, a late-night concern or a minor-looking symptom that nags a worried owner rarely has a reliable, knowledgeable first port of call. PawCheck was built to fill exactly that space β not to replace the veterinarian, but to give every pet owner the informed first read that was previously only available in a clinic.
“Most pet owners do not delay a vet visit because they do not care,” said
“Most pet owners do not delay a vet visit because they do not care. They delay because they are not sure it is serious enough. We built PawCheck to remove that doubt β to put a calm, knowledgeable second opinion in every pet parent’s pocket, at any hour, for free.”β Ebrahim Mandviwala, Founder, Canine Products Private Limited
At the heart of PawCheck is the AI Health Scan, which uses Google’s Gemini 2.5 AI platform β one of the world’s most capable multimodal models β to analyse a photograph taken on any Android phone and return a structured assessment covering the likely condition, a severity classification of Normal, Monitor, or Urgent, a confidence indicator, and a plain-English explanation the owner can immediately act on. At launch, the app covers eleven clinically validated conditions across four areas of the body β eyes, skin, ears, and teeth β for both dogs and cats.
PawCheck also introduces Gut Check β believed to be among the first AI-powered gastrointestinal triage tools available to Indian pet owners. The owner photographs a stool or vomit sample and answers five short questions covering frequency, duration, appetite changes, the presence of blood, and behavioural shifts. The app analyses both inputs together and returns a severity classification with possible causes and next steps. A hardcoded safety override ensures that any indication of blood automatically triggers an Urgent warning β a deliberate design choice that places patient safety above algorithmic output.

Beyond the scan itself, PawCheck is built for ongoing care. A Health Dashboard tracks each pet’s scan history and aggregates a health score over time, supporting households with multiple pets under a single account. Vaccination Reminders adjust automatically to a puppy’s or kitten’s age with alert scheduling built around standard Indian veterinary protocols. A Vet Locator identifies nearby clinics filtered by condition and species, and a shareable Pet Health Card β a QR-coded PDF β allows an owner to hand a complete medical history to any veterinarian or pet professional instantly. Every result screen carries a mandatory disclosure: PawCheck is an AI screening tool and does not constitute a veterinary diagnosis.
That restraint is a founding principle. In a category often characterised by overclaiming, the PawCheck team made a deliberate choice: a tool that is honest about what it can and cannot do earns more trust, and gets used more often, than one that overpromises. The clinical logic built into the app β the automatic Urgent escalation on blood indicators, the severity triage before any product recommendation, the disclaimer present at every result β reflects a product designed first for safety and second for growth.
The app is free to download and free to use, with four scans per month at no charge. A Pro subscription at βΉ99 per month adds unlimited scans, an ad-free experience, and health card export. Pricing has been deliberately positioned to ensure that cost is never a reason a treatable condition goes unexamined.
PawCheck is engineered for India specifically β built to function on mid-range Android devices and variable mobile networks, and designed in compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Pet and owner data is not shared with third parties without explicit consent, and the app’s consent flow is server-versioned to allow policy updates without requiring a new app build.
