Beyond the Menu: How Devang is Building Experiences Rooted in Culture and Consistency
In Rajkot, a new wave of young entrepreneurs is quietly reshaping the hospitality landscape—placing experience, emotion, and detail at the center of their vision. Among them is 24-year-old Devang Chavda, who is building not just a hospitality venture, but a philosophy-driven brand grounded in consistency and cultural roots.
For Devang, entrepreneurship was never a distant ambition—it was a way of life. Raised in a family where building one’s own path was the norm, the idea of a conventional job never truly existed. But beyond this mindset, it was the environment at home that left a lasting impact.
Growing up, hospitality was not taught—it was lived. Guests were not just welcomed; they were valued. Meals were prepared with intention, new dishes were created for every visit, and the effort behind hosting was always visible. It was here that Devang unknowingly developed his first understanding of what hospitality truly means.
To build on this instinct, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Tourism Management, choosing to strengthen his foundation before stepping fully into the business. His perspective further evolved during his internship at Erth Abu Dhabi – Armed Forces Officers Club, where he worked closely within a system defined by precision and discipline.
Serving high-profile dignitaries and VIP guests under strict protocols, Devang experienced a global standard of hospitality that emphasized one key principle—details define the experience. “You realize very quickly that luxury is not loud. It’s subtle, it’s precise, and it’s consistent,” he reflects.
In April 2022, he took a decisive step by co-founding The Heritage Palace Resort, supported by his father, uncle, and cousin. While it was a collective effort, the direction it took was deeply influenced by Devang’s personal beliefs.
His vision was clear from the beginning: people don’t just go out for food anymore—they go out to feel something.
This thinking shaped every aspect of the venture. Inspired by the cultural richness of Rajasthan, the space was designed to feel rooted and immersive. But beyond aesthetics, the real focus remained on creating moments—whether through thoughtfully designed dining experiences, personalized celebrations, or the smallest details that guests might not notice immediately but remember later.
The journey, however, came with its share of challenges. Building consistency, managing operations, and standing out in a competitive market required constant learning. Instead of taking a rigid leadership approach, Devang chose to build an environment where ideas could flow freely.
“I listen a lot—to my team, their suggestions, their creativity. Sometimes the best ideas come from them,” he says.
This approach has helped him create not just a team, but a culture—one where individuals feel valued and involved in the larger vision.
At the core of everything he does is a simple philosophy: be better than yesterday.
Rather than chasing rapid success, Devang focuses on steady, consistent growth—both personally and professionally. This mindset reflects in how the business evolves, with continuous improvements across service, experience, and operations.
Looking ahead, his ambitions extend far beyond the present scale. The vision is to transform the venture into a complete five-star hospitality destination, with over 200 rooms, wellness facilities, and multiple venues designed for weddings, celebrations, and large-scale events. The goal is not just expansion, but creating a place where life’s important moments are experienced in a meaningful way.
At the same time, Devang is actively integrating technology into the business. From streamlining operations to enhancing guest interactions, the use of AI and digital tools plays a growing role in his approach. However, he remains clear about one thing—technology should enhance hospitality, not replace its human essence.
Equally important is his focus on local impact. By creating employment opportunities and nurturing talent from within the community, Devang is building a model that grows alongside its surroundings. For him, success is not just measured by scale, but by the value it creates for people connected to it.
In many ways, his journey reflects a larger shift in the industry—where the next generation of entrepreneurs is moving beyond traditional formats to build experience-led brands.
For Devang, the vision remains simple yet powerful: to create a space where people don’t just visit, but remember—where every detail matters, and every experience leaves a lasting impression.
