From Legacy to Landmark: How Paras Bhatia Built Limestone Watches into a Mass-Market Powerhouse

In an era where luxury is often equated with exclusivity and high price tags, Paras Bhatia, Founder of Limestone Watches and Director at Limestone Fashion Private Limited, is proving that true success lies in accessibility. By transforming a struggling family heritage into a manufacturing juggernaut, Bhatia has democratized the wristwatch for millions of Indians.

A Legacy Reclaimed
The story of Limestone is not one of overnight success, but of grit. Wristwatch manufacturing was the Bhatia family’s cornerstone for decades. However, when Paras joined the business, he didn’t step into a well-oiled machine—he stepped into a financial crisis.

Instead of retreating, he leaned into the industry’s roots. With 42 years of collective family experience and 12 years of his own strategic leadership, Paras identified a massive gap in the Indian market: the need for premium-looking designs at an “impulse-buy” price point.

The Philosophy: Fashion, Not Investment
Paras operates on a distinct philosophy that challenges the traditional “heirloom” view of horology.

“For a man, a watch is often his only piece of jewelry,” says Bhatia. “Unlike women, who have a vast array of accessories, a man relies on his wrist to make a statement. I wanted to ensure that every man in India could afford that statement—not as a lifelong asset to be locked away, but as a daily fashion accessory.”

By focusing on a low Average Selling Price (ASP) without compromising on the “premium feel,” Limestone has successfully positioned watches as a lifestyle choice for the masses.

By the Numbers: Impact and Scale
The results of this “mass-market first” strategy are staggering. In the last decade alone, Limestone Watches has:

Sold over 50 Lakh (5 Million) units across the Indian market.

Maintained 100% Made in India production.

Established itself as one of the country’s highest-capacity manufacturers, at a time when many competitors have moved toward third-party sourcing.

The Heart of the Factory: A Lifelong Bond
What truly sets Limestone apart isn’t just the machinery, but the people. In a rare display of corporate loyalty, the craftsmen and workers at Limestone have been with the family since before Paras was even born.

“I consider it a blessing to work alongside people who have been here since my father’s time,” Paras shares. “We have seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows together. It’s a testament to the fact that if you keep working with integrity, the bad times end faster.”

Looking Ahead
Despite the massive scale of the operation, the learning hasn’t stopped. Paras and his team continue to innovate daily, proving that high-volume manufacturing and a “student’s mindset” are the keys to staying relevant in India’s fast-evolving fashion landscape.
