Meet the 22 Year-Old Founder Of Copn India, a Curated Fashion Marketplace Valued at ₹15 Crores in Just One Year

At just 22, Manan Jain is building what could become one of India’s most influential curated fashion marketplaces.

Copn India, the culture-first multi-brand marketplace for emerging Indian streetwear and independent fashion labels, has rapidly grown into a platform featuring more than 50 brands in under a year. Built around curation, discovery, and community, the company is already valued at ₹15 crores.

But the idea for Copn India didn’t begin with a marketplace.

It started with a cap brand.

The Journey Before Copn India

Before launching Copn India, Manan was running Evensout, a headwear and cap brand.

At the time, he admits he didn’t know much about design, manufacturing, or the fashion business itself. What followed was a long period of experimentation, mistakes, and learning through trial and error. After burning significant money testing products, creatives and marketing strategies, he slowly figured out one thing that mattered most in fashion commerce: how to sell.

While building EvenSout, Manan became deeply connected to India’s growing streetwear and independent fashion ecosystem. Through exhibitions, pop-ups, and networking with other founders, he started meeting several brand owners creating genuinely strong products with great fabrics, silhouettes and branding but with little to no sales.

That realization became even clearer during one exhibition where EvenSout was exhibiting alongside multiple emerging fashion brands.

“I met so many founders with amazing products that simply weren’t reaching the right audience. That’s when the idea for Copn India clicked.”

The problem wasn’t the product.

The problem was discovery.

The Gap in India’s Fashion Marketplace Industry

India’s fashion e-commerce market was filled with large platforms focused on quantity over curation. Independent D2C fashion brands often got buried under mass-produced products, aggressive discounting, and overcrowded marketplaces.

At the same time, Gen Z consumers were actively looking for:

Consumers wanted discovery.

Brands wanted visibility.

That gap became the foundation for Copn India.

The Launch of Copn India

After months of building the platform, onboarding brands, and refining the vision, Copn India officially launched on 01.05.25.

The idea was simple:
Build a curated fashion marketplace where emerging Indian brands could grow together under one roof without losing their identity.

Instead of becoming another generic e-commerce website, Copn India positioned itself as a culture-first platform focused on aesthetics, storytelling and community-driven fashion.

Today, the platform features more than 50 independent brands and continues to grow as one of India’s emerging names in the streetwear and D2C fashion space.

What Makes Copn India Different

Unlike traditional marketplaces, Copn India focuses heavily on curation rather than endless inventory.

Every brand added to the platform aligns with a certain creative and cultural direction, helping create a more intentional shopping experience for consumers.

The marketplace specializes in:

Rather than competing purely on discounts, Copn India focuses on helping consumers discover brands with strong identity and storytelling.

Building the Future of Fashion Discovery in India

Copn India also operates with an asset-light marketplace model, where partner brands handle fulfillment while the platform focuses on growth, curation and customer acquisition.

This allows independent labels to scale faster without massive operational pressure while giving consumers access to a highly curated shopping experience.

As India’s streetwear and D2C ecosystem continues to grow, platforms like Copn India are becoming increasingly relevant.

Consumers today don’t just buy products.

They buy identity, culture and community.

And for Manan Jain, what started with a struggling cap brand and a single exhibition has now evolved into one of India’s fastest-growing curated fashion marketplaces valued at ₹15 crores in under a year.
