Rehaan Sharma: The 17 Year Old Founder Building Alverton Capital Into a $2.5 Million Institutional Trading Desk
Rehaan Sharma is the founder of Alverton Capital, a trading technology company and proprietary trading firm built on a simple conviction: retail traders deserve the same research, structure and clarity that institutional desks have always had.
At 17, Rehaan is building the platform to deliver it. Alverton is developing the research and decision infrastructure that institutional trading desks rely on, and delivering it to individual traders through its flagship platform, Alverton Desk. The firm’s own proprietary desk trades on that platform every session, and Alverton plans to deploy $2.5 million in trading capital next year.
Rehaan has already taken Alverton before some of the most senior audiences in global finance. He has presented the firm to banking and private wealth leaders at the Jersey Private Wealth Conference in London, and at iBRICS 2026, the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute’s summit in New Delhi, held alongside the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit. That summit brought together more than 500 institutional investors, finance ministers and business leaders.
The Structural Gap in Retail Trading
Retail trading has never been more accessible, yet access has not translated into results. The Securities and Exchange Board of India’s latest study found that nearly nine in ten individual traders in equity derivatives lost money in FY26. Its earlier analysis showed that in FY24, 96 percent of proprietary traders’ profits came from algorithmic trading.
The difference is not intelligence. It is structure. Institutional desks begin each session with research, a documented view and a record of every past decision. Most retail traders begin with a chart. Alverton Capital was founded to close that gap.
Alverton Desk: Institutional Architecture for the Individual Trader
Alverton Desk is structured the way an institutional trading operation works: research before the session, intelligence during it, and continuous review after it. Its ten modules run on live market data throughout, with Alverton AI, the firm’s own intelligence layer, interpreting that data at every stage. At its core:
- Bias Engine: Before every US market open, the Bias Engine delivers a comprehensive research report on NASDAQ and S&P 500 futures (NQ and ES). Each report sets out an executive summary, the macro context, weekly technical structure, a trading playbook, conviction levels and a clear conclusion. A weekly edition sets the broader outlook every Sunday.
- Alverton AI: The platform’s intelligence layer translates live market data into plain English analysis throughout the session, while the Level Intelligence Scanner identifies the price levels that matter and explains the significance of each.
- Trading Desk: Brings the session into a single workspace, with live sections locking outside market hours so every decision is made on live conditions.
- Psychology Module: Measures a trader’s behavioural state directly from their trading activity. Alverton AI then weighs that reading against setup quality and risk exposure to adapt the trader’s plan for the next session, while the Performance Vault and Intelligence Journal keep a complete record of every trade.
Where most platforms display the market, Alverton Desk interprets it. Every module ends in a conclusion, and nothing reaches the screen unless it is supported by credible data.
A Firm That Trades Its Own Technology
Alverton does not only build trading technology. It trades. The firm’s proprietary desk operates on Alverton Desk every session, so the platform is tested in live market conditions and refined against real results. That work is supported by ongoing research in backtesting, market simulation and algorithmic trading.
From Private Alpha to $2.5 Million
Alverton Desk is currently in private alpha, with a waitlist ahead of its public launch. Alongside the launch, the firm will begin deploying its trading capital, with the platform and the trading desk scaling together.
A Practitioner at the Helm
Rehaan leads Alverton Capital across product, research and trading. He conceived and designed Alverton Desk, directs its development, and runs the firm’s proprietary trading.
His expertise spans US index futures, primarily NASDAQ and S&P 500 contracts, which he has traded since the age of 14, together with a longstanding focus on market microstructure, macroeconomics and capital allocation. That grounding in live markets, rather than theory, shapes every module Alverton builds.
By 17, Rehaan has already worked with Pine Labs, one of India’s leading fintech companies, and FundingPips, one of the world’s leading proprietary trading firms.
His goals for the year ahead are clear: take Alverton Desk to public launch, scale the firm’s trading desk, and establish Alverton as the platform serious retail traders rely on. Over the longer term, he intends to build Alverton into a trading firm operating to institutional standards, with its own technology at its core.
“Retail traders are not short of information,” Rehaan says. “What they need is a clear decision. That is what we are building at Alverton.”
