From Corporate Wellbeing to Building Mind Meredian: How Nikita Sahay Is Reimagining Mental Health

Mind Meredian brings together psychology, therapy and workplace wellbeing.

There is a growing shift in how India talks about mental health and wellbeing. The conversation is moving beyond occasional awareness sessions and employee wellness calendars towards a deeper question: what does meaningful psychological support actually look like? For psychologist and entrepreneur Nikita Sahay, that question has shaped a career that moved from corporate wellbeing into entrepreneurship, therapy and research.

The Corporate Chapter

Before building her own practice, she spent years working within large organisations, including Walmart, Accenture, Cognizant, MiQ and JLL, working across counselling, employee wellbeing and organisational initiatives. Working inside corporate environments gave her a close view of the realities employees carry into the workplace: stress, burnout, relationships, performance pressure, changing expectations and the difficulty of sustaining wellbeing while navigating demanding careers.

The experience also taught her something important. Wellbeing could not be reduced to a programme, a webinar or a benefit listed on an HR portal. People needed support that felt relevant to their actual lives, and organisations needed approaches grounded in psychology rather than trends.

The Decision to Step Away

After Walmart, she made a deliberate decision to step away from corporate life and build something of her own.

That decision became the beginning of Mind Meredian.

Rather than creating another conventional therapy practice, the vision was to build a mental wellbeing and behavioural consulting brand that could sit across individual psychological care and workplace wellbeing. The idea was simple: psychological support should be evidence-based, accessible and human—and it should not have to feel intimidating or overly clinical.

Mind Meredian was created around that philosophy, with the belief that healing begins with understanding rather than judgement.

Building Mind Meredian

Today, Mind Meredian brings together therapy, mental wellbeing and behavioural consulting. Its work spans individual counselling and psychological support alongside workplace wellbeing projects and interventions. The practice also reflects a particular interest in somatic and trauma-informed approaches, recognising that emotional experiences are not only things people think about—they are also experienced through the body.

The brand’s digital home, mindmeredian.co.in, is part of that larger vision: creating a space where people can understand the kind of support available, explore therapy without unnecessary barriers and take the first step when they feel ready.

The philosophy is captured in Mind Meredian’s simple line: “Therapy When You’re Ready.”

That positioning is intentional. It moves away from the idea that someone has to reach a crisis point before seeking psychological support.

From One Practice to a Larger Ecosystem

The entrepreneurial journey has also expanded beyond one-to-one therapy. Alongside Mind Meredian, the work continues to connect psychology with employee wellbeing, research and professional education.

Sahay is pursuing doctoral research in employee wellbeing and is developing a psychometric assessment focused on sales employees in the Indian real estate industry. The research reflects the same principle that shaped her corporate career: wellbeing needs to be understood in context. The pressures experienced by a frontline sales professional, for example, cannot always be captured through generic measures of stress or satisfaction.

That intersection between research and practice is becoming a defining part of the larger vision. The goal is not simply to provide support after people struggle, but to build better ways of understanding wellbeing before problems become overwhelming.

A Different Definition of Success

Leaving corporate life did not mean leaving workplace wellbeing behind. In many ways, it allowed the work to become broader.

The next chapter is about building an ecosystem where therapy, behavioural science, employee wellbeing and education can coexist. It is about creating psychological services that feel human, while also developing tools and programmes that can work at organisational scale.

For Mind Meredian, the ambition is therefore bigger than a therapy practice. It is about changing how people experience psychological support—whether they walk into therapy because they are struggling, approach wellbeing as an employer, or simply want to understand themselves better.

The journey from corporate wellbeing to entrepreneurship has given her a perspective from both sides of the table. She has seen how organisations think about wellbeing, how individuals experience it, and where the two often fail to meet.

Mind Meredian is her attempt to build that bridge—and to make mental wellbeing feel less like something people are told to manage, and more like something they are genuinely supported to understand.
