Dr. Adesh Kumar PT: Connecting Physiotherapy Education With Clinical Care

Greater Noida West: For many physiotherapy graduates in India, the gap between the classroom and the clinic can feel wide. Dr. Adesh Kumar PT has built his career around closing it.

A practising physiotherapist and the Founder and Director of Physiocity, Dr. Kumar leads a growing group that brings together clinical care, professional education and community work. Physiocity Private Limited now spans a rehabilitation clinic, an online academy for students and practising physiotherapists, and a national calendar of virtual and in-person events.

His approach rests on a simple belief: good rehabilitation depends on good training, and good training must stay connected to real patients.

“Physiotherapy changes lives when skilled hands meet sound science,” says Dr. Kumar. “Everything we build at Physiocity is meant to strengthen that connection, for the patient in front of us and for the next generation of physiotherapists.”

A clinician first

Dr. Kumar holds a Master of Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics and a Fellowship in Neuromusculoskeletal Techniques. His clinical focus is the shoulder, spine and knee. His certifications include Neurodynamics (Australia), Dry Needling, Myofascial Therapy, Manual Therapy, ACL Rehabilitation and Shoulder Simplified.

That clinical grounding shaped Physiocity’s newest milestone. In August 2026, the group opened the Physiocity Institute of Rehabilitation & Wellness at Nirala Biz Park, Techzone 4, in Greater Noida West. The clinic offers advanced physiotherapy along with orthopaedic, sports and neurological rehabilitation. Patients are seen in the clinic and online, with home visits available for some.

The Institute also serves as a training ground. Its three-month observership and internship programme places physiotherapy students alongside working clinicians, where they see assessment and treatment decisions in practice rather than only on the page.

“A student learns differently the day they stand beside a real patient,” Dr. Kumar says. “We wanted a clinic that heals people and also teaches.”

Opening doors through education

On the academic side, Dr. Kumar founded the Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences, which offers online courses, masterclasses, certifications and continuing professional development for BPT and MPT students and practising physiotherapists. Its offerings include a recorded ACL Rehabilitation course and a Foundation Course for BPT students.

Physiocity’s reach extends well beyond its classrooms. Its Instagram page, @physiocity, has about 3.1 lakh followers, making it a regular source of clinical learning for physiotherapy students and professionals.

The group has also built a steady record of virtual academic events. These include the Virtual International Physio Conference in 2024, VIPC 2.0 in 2025, the Virtual Ortho-Physio Summit in January 2026 and the Radio Physio Summit in June 2026. The online format lets learners from smaller towns and colleges join without the cost of travel.

Access is also the idea behind the Physiocity All India Scholarship Test, or PAIST 2026. The two-round test covers subjects including anatomy, biomechanics, orthopaedics and neurology. Round 1 is held live online, and the top 15 students go on to a live video round. The exam is scheduled for 15 January 2027.

Building a stronger profession

Dr. Kumar’s work also reaches beyond clinic and academy. He is the founder of the UP Physio Network Foundation, a non-profit incorporated in September 2025 and registered under Sections 12A and 80G. Based in Menhdawal, Sant Kabir Nagar, the Foundation focuses on physiotherapy education, community health camps and professional development in Uttar Pradesh.

He also serves as Secretary of the International Physio Creators Fest, organised jointly by Physiocity and You360. The 2026 edition took place on 25 October in Navi Mumbai. It brought students, professionals and content creators together for panels, competitions and the Physio Creators Excellence Awards. Dr. Kumar spoke on its Business and Entrepreneurship panel, sharing his experience of building a brand in physiotherapy.

For him, these efforts share one purpose: giving physiotherapists more skills, more visibility and more ways to build a career. It is a message he hopes will encourage young practitioners, particularly those who come from outside the country’s big cities.

Looking ahead

Dr. Kumar’s goal is to make Physiocity a leading physiotherapy brand worldwide, while keeping patient care and sound education at its core.

“Indian physiotherapists have the talent to lead globally,” he says. “Our job is to give them the training, the platform and the confidence to do it.”

With a clinic in operation, an academy reaching students across India and a foundation serving communities in Uttar Pradesh, that ambition is already taking shape. Physiocity’s guiding line, “Restoring Movement. Enhancing Lives.”, sums up the work. For more information, visit physiocity.org or physiocitycl
