Sahil Kumar’s journey into law began with a deep interest in justice, rights and the role that law plays in shaping society. For him, choosing law was never simply about pursuing a professional qualification; it was about understanding a system that can protect individuals, resolve disputes and create meaningful change. His B.A. LL.B. journey introduced him to the many dimensions of the legal profession and gradually developed his interest in the practical application of law beyond textbooks and classrooms.
A significant milestone in Sahil Kumar’s journey has been the creation of Legal 101, a legal-awareness startup initiated by Sahil himself. Built around the idea of making legal knowledge simpler and more accessible, Legal 101 reflects his belief that people should be able to understand their basic legal rights and options without being overwhelmed by complicated legal terminology. Through the startup, Sahil began exploring how legal knowledge, technology and entrepreneurship could come together to create greater legal awareness and social impact. For him, Legal 101 represents more than a startup—it represents an attempt to make the law more approachable for the people it is ultimately meant to serve.
His professional journey has since taken him into law-firm practice and corporate legal work, where he has gained exposure to legal research, drafting, documentation, client interaction, negotiation, dispute resolution and financial and commercial matters. His experience at Resolve360.in, where he has worked as a Legal Associate, has further strengthened his understanding of how legal knowledge intersects with business, client requirements and practical problem-solving. These experiences have helped him move from viewing law primarily as an academic discipline to understanding it as a profession built around responsibility, judgement and solutions.
What makes Sahil’s journey distinctive is the combination of legal practice, entrepreneurship and social impact that continues to shape his ambitions. His work on Legal 101 and his professional experience have reinforced his belief that a modern lawyer must look beyond conventional legal practice. Looking ahead, Sahil sees his current professional journey as the foundation for a much larger aspiration. Coming from a defence background, he has a longstanding respect for the values of discipline, duty and service associated with the armed forces. His personal ambition is to eventually serve the Indian Army as a legal professional, combining his legal expertise with his desire to contribute to an institution he deeply respects. For now, he remains focused on learning, gaining experience and building his capabilities. His journey is still in its early stages, but the vision is clear: to become a lawyer and legal entrepreneur whose career is measured not only by professional success, but by the people, institutions and causes he is able to serve through the law.
